In this expanded role you’ll mentor junior engineers, lead multidisciplinary project teams, and serve as the strategic bridge between design and production. You will own the end-to-end manufacturing roadmap for complex air-system programs, champion Lean and Agile principles, and spearhead high-impact initiatives that reduce cost, accelerate schedules, and enhance product quality. By translating bold concepts into manufacturable solutions, you’ll provide the technical guidance, decision-making authority, and creative vision that keep our mission-critical customers “Ahead of Ready” throughout every phase of the product life-cycle.

Beyond day-to-day engineering, you will influence senior leadership by presenting data-driven insights, shaping policy, and driving organizational change. Your responsibilities include developing training curricula, conducting performance reviews, and fostering an environment where bold ideas are tested, refined, and deployed. Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree 
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or high-tech hardware.
• Technical lead on design reviews, process improvement initiatives.
• Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model, requirements flow-down, and verification & validation (V&V) processes.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance per business requirements 

Desired Skills

· Familiarity with relevant MIL-STD, AS9100, ISO 9001, and other aerospace/defense standards.

· Experience with Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System Architecture, and Trade-Study techniques.

· Understanding of configuration management and change-control processes.

· Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to produce clear ICDs, test plans, and technical reports.

· Experience working in cross-functional teams (systems, test, quality, supply chain).

· Knowledge of machining, additive manufacturing, sheet-metal fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.

· Ability to translate model data into manufacturing instructions (e-drawings, CNC programs, inspection plans).
