Job Title:  Senior Procurement Representative

The Opportunity

Working as part of the AIR6500 team, you will source, negotiate and purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation.

The role encompasses compiling and analysing statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives, as well as monitoring performance of suppliers. You will be negotiating with suppliers and analysing suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. You may also prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.

Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an active Australian Government Defence Security Clearance required for the position.

Key Responsibilities


• Coordinate and provide support on simple and complex (low risk) procurement activities including sourcing, negotiating and purchasing.
• Coordinate supplier identification, sourcing, and management for a wide range of commodity and service types.
• Source, negotiate and purchase materials, equipment, parts, services and supplies as required.
• Prepare and manage procurement processes through to delivery, including tracking orders, verifying delivery, approving payment, and maintaining necessary records.
• Maintain accurate procurement data records in system/s of record and internal tracking tools in accordance with company processes and procedures.
• Liaise with external suppliers to resolve queries and issues and expedite orders as required in a timely and professional manner.
• Negotiate with suppliers and analyse suppliers operations to establish factors that affect prices to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules.
• Monitor performance of suppliers and escalate any issues for resolution as they arise.
• Provide updated supplier details to internal stakeholders to support the maintenance of the Preferred Supplier List

What you'll bring

As well as a solid work ethic and team player mentality you will ideally hold Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience. You will also have significant practical experience with and understanding of simple and complex procurement in commercial and defence environments.

You will also have:

• Significant knowledge of applicable law as it relates to procurement
• Significant experience within a customer liaison role.
• Demonstrated experience working within an engineering or project environment
• Computer literacy with an ability to analyse and interpret complex reports and management
