Standard Job Description

Manages the planning, coordination, direction, and/or performance of engineering assignments involving specifications for, and design changes or alterations to, aircraft, engines, systems, components, and field or shop equipment; investigates and analyzes project requirements and operating problems and develops recommended solutions to meet company governmental safety and performance standards including Minimum Equipment List (MEL); evaluates, selects, applies, and/or adapts engineering modifications; designs or recommends new or modified parts and components; analyzes repairability of parts and components; evaluates operating data on parts, components, and systems to establish causes and to determine remedies for wear, malfunctions, or premature removals; analyzes and evaluates aircraft and associated equipment proposals; prepares technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required publications. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Aircraft operations/maintenance/sustainment experience
  • Demonstrated experience working and interacting with senior management within LM as well as unit operations and maintenance communities
  • Working knowledge of flight line operations in and around operational environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Air Force or other US Military maintenance and operations
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with Supply Chain Management 
  • Working knowledge of Planning, deployment, and execution of Contractor Field Teams and Contractor Maintenance Teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aircraft Maintenance and Availability Metrics
  • Active Secret Clearance

Desired Skills

  • 10 years of aircraft operations/maintenance/sustainment experience
  • Candidate should possess a broad military aircraft support background and advanced interpersonal and communication skills to be effective in a high tempo operational environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supporting organizations, companies and customer maintenance operations leadership critical for success.
  • Prior military or civilian equivalent operational maintenance & logistics experience desirable; specifically organizational and intermediate maintenance experience.
  • Should be considered an expert authority in the maintenance, operations, and support/sustainment disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of Supply, Field Operations, and Technical Publications functions.
  • Demonstrates Empathy, patience and a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Active Top Secret Clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
