About the role

We’re looking for a talented Finance Analyst to join our Finance team at our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. This role is a development-focused opportunity with the ideal candidate eager to stretch themselves and grow within the business. We are looking for someone who is excited to take on new challenges, expand their skill set beyond the core responsibilities and drive continuous improvement across finance processes.
 

This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4-day working week (Monday–Thursday) alongside hybrid working. You’ll work onsite Monday and Tuesday, with Wednesday and Thursday from home, subject to business needs. 
 

As a finance analyst, you will provide critical financial insights that drive operational efficiency, cost control and sales analysis. You will be supporting both the Financial, Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team and the Overheads team with opportunities to work with other key stakeholders across the business. Core responsibilities include but not limited to,  

• Produce weekly and monthly reports/dashboards on timesheets, manning and utilisation. 

• Conduct variance analysis for orders, sales, profit, cash and overheads.  

• Create, review and post journals 

• Support month end close ensuring accuracy and compliance. 

• Work closely with budget owners as the primary point of contact for cost/spend queries. Lead in the monthly overhead reviews with your functional budget owners and provide guidance.  

• Participate in quarterly contract status reviews to ensure accurate profit bookings. 

• Participate in bi-annual long range planning and help deliver the 5-10 Orders, sales, profit and cash plans 

• Provide guidance in line with Corporate Policy. 

• Leverage Microsoft Excel (pivots, advanced formulas) to model scenarios and reporting 

• Create and maintain BI/Tableau dashboards for stakeholders. 

• Identify and recommend improvements to finance systems/process including future reporting automation. 
• Engagement with functions outside of finance to support variance analysis and help support decision making.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

• Proven experience as a Finance Analyst or similar Finance / Analytical role 
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including use pivots, advanced formulas and graphs.
• High attention to detail with a proactive, solution-focused approach 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
