Standard Job Description
Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes. Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications. Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
You will be the Material & Process Engineer Senior for the Materials Engineering Team. Our team is responsible for developing and optimizing advanced materials and fabrication processes for aerospace structures and subsystems.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Material & Process Engineer Senior you will be responsible for researching, designing, and qualifying materials and processes that meet stringent performance and reliability requirements.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze and develop material specifications, processing methods, and fabrication techniques.
- Apply chemistry, physics, and material behavior principles to create metallic, non‑metallic, and composite solutions.
- Perform failure analysis, life‑prediction modeling, and quality engineering assessments.
- Review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
- Collaborate with design teams to integrate material solutions into system architectures.

Basic Qualifications
BS in Engineering Discipline with 3 years of experience or MS in Engineering Discipline with 1 year of experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.

Materials science fundamentals: Metals, composites, ceramics, polymers; microstructure-processing-properties relationships
Manufacturing processes: Casting, forging, machining, forming, heat treating, additive manufacturing, surface finishing
Quality & standards: AS9100/ISO 9001, NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, RT), inspection techniques, compliance with MIL-SPEC/NASA standards
Data & statistical analysis: Six Sigma, root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $76700.00 - $142500.00
