ACL is hiring a Cyber Applied Research Scientist to join our team of revolutionaries leading the charge in the ever-changing domain of cyber.  

 

What You Will Be Doing:

In this role, you will working align side applied researchers and engineers who contribute to projects that redefine the cutting edge of customer and internally funded R&D:

  • Researching, inventing, designing, and developing new approaches to computing technology, as well as develop innovative uses for existing technology. 
  • Creating and improving computer systems, applications, and algorithms.
  • Solving complex computing problems through development of innovative prototypes and software systems.
  • Evaluating systems against envisioned metrics. 
  • Authoring technical portions of proposals, presenting results and demonstrating prototypes to your teammates and program customers.

 

Who You Are:

  • You have demonstrated a passion for cyber technologies, are self-motivation, and adept at research and prototype development
  • You have a deep understanding of network protocols and inter-process communication
  • You possess a strong technical background that might include experience in any of the following: software development with C, C++, and Python; debugging with gdb, Valgrind, windbg; Firmware or Kernel-level development; OS/Network/Application designs; vulnerability and malware analysis; or Reverse Engineering, IO, and CNO technology development.
  • You revel in the thrill of finding solutions when the path isn't clear, the idea of creating groundbreaking operational capabilities excites you, and you thrive in an open, collaborative environment

 

Further Information About This Opportunity:

This role is fully onsite at our Arlington VA location.  US Citizenship with eligibility for TS/SCI clearance is required. 

 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical fields of study such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Security, or related field.
  • Experience in Research & Development
  • Experience with Software Development in Python, C, or C++
  • Experience in one or more of the following domains:
    • Applied research
    • Embedded systems development
    • Compiler Design and Implementation
    • IDS and PSP Design and Implementation
    • Static and dynamic reverse engineering on x86/x86_64, MIPS, ARM, or PowerPC
    • Vulnerability Analysis of source code or binaries
    • Machine-learning/Artificial Intelligence
    • Cyber/IO/CNO R&D
  • US Citizenship with eligibility for TS/SCI clearance

Desired Skills

  • Advanced degree(s) in technical fields of study such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Security, or related field.
  • Demonstrated skills in user-space or kernel-space development
  • Networking protocols and socketapplication development
  • Debugging (e.g gdb, windbg, OllyDbg,Valgrind)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
