Standard Job Description
As Sr. Quality Engineer on the PAC-3 Capacity and Resilience Ramp-to-Rate Quality team, you'll help scale PAC-3 Missile System production to meet surging demand — partnering across Lockheed Martin sites and the supply base to drive RCCA, lead continuous improvement, and hold the line on aerospace quality standards as rates climb.
As the Sr. Supplier Quality Engineeryou will be responsible for overseeing quality processes, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and supporting hybrid on‑site/remote operations. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Participate & Lead Quality Management Ramp & Enablement projects
- Supplier quality representative within an set of Supplier Management Teams
- Leading investigations to resolve transition to production issues.
- Develop and implement inspection plans at LM sites and Suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and other aerospace standards.
- Support travel to production sites and/or Supplier as needed.
- Maintain documentation and reporting for quality metrics.
Basic Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in quality engineering, aerospace, or defense manufacturing
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related STEM field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated expertise with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001) including creation of inspection plans, execution of First‑Article Inspections to AS9102, and management of special‑process compliance
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and performing mechanical/electrical inspections; able to identify supplier quality deficiencies and drive corrective‑action implementation
- Physical capability to work in a manufacturing environment, including prolonged standing and use of required Personal Protective Equipment (protective footwear, eye/hearing protection, etc.)
Desired Skills
- Second source supplier evaluations and/or activation of a new supplier
- Experience with MFC Apriso and other P2P business systems
- Proven ability to lead source inspections, special‑process surveys, purchase‑order reviews, and supplier surveillance activities
- Demonstrated leadership and supplier‑relationship management in cross‑functional team settings
- Knowledge of tooling processes (casting, additive manufacturing) and structured/blue‑light inspection techniques
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher
- GD&T training or certification
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
