THE WORK:

Select candidate will train as a Production Assembler – Aerospace Manufacturing Training Program (AMTP) in partnership with Saint Petersburg College (SPC) for the team which is responsible for building circuit card assemblies.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

You will participate in a training program, and upon successful completion and passing of the course, will be offered a role as a Production Assembler. The select candidate will build circuit card assemblies by following work process instructions and blueprint diagrams. Follow company policies and procedures. Execute daily function with key performance metrics in mind:  Safety, Quality, Productivity and Schedule.

WHO YOU ARE:

The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and understand work instructions and blueprints in English, work with a microscope, pass a vision test (including color), basic computer skills, hobbies that include anything where you work with your hands, availability to work a 4/10 schedule plus overtime and the weekend shift, and must be able to work in one place for ten or more hours.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand instructions in English
  • Ability to work 4 days 10 hours, overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to work with a microscope for an extended period of time
  • Must pass vision test including color
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Basic measurement skills
  • Hand eye coordination & fine motor skills

Desired Skills

  • Four (4) months of previous experience working in production assembly type of work
  • Basic electronics fundamentals
  • Team work and communication
  • Aptitude for manual crafts such as; painting, construction, etc.

 

 

Program Description – AMTP

The AMTP will train the cohort on Soldering  per IPC standards. The participant will receive related instructions and on the job learning while also performing direct tasks.

The applicant will be expected to perform all aspects of soldering after completing training with some assistance and supervision. Will work from electronic work instructions and with a microscope. Must be able to read and speak English, comprehend documents in English. Must perform and pass required proficiency assessments/demonstrations.

For consideration in the program, candidates must enroll in the AMTP through SPC. Tuition costs may apply, but in-state financial aid and grants may be available to qualifying candidates. Candidates are responsible for submitting the financial aid application through SPC, and screening and eligibility verification through CareerSource. The program is conducted over a 3 week period and requires the successful completion and passing of IPC 610 and J-STD-001 courses as well as the Lockheed Martin hands-on proficiency demonstration in week 3 in order to be considered for hire. The courses held during weeks 1-3 will be conducted at SPC. SPC training times may vary.

Post-hire, after completion and passing of AMTP, employees must be flexible and available to work first or second shift. Work schedules are Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day. Start times may vary depending on the assigned work area, but the standard first and second shifts begin 5:00 am – 3:30 pm and 3:30 pm – 2:00 am.

Full-Time Salary Range: $30900.00 - $57500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
