Position Summary
The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for the end‑to‑end implementation of server‑room hardware solutions. This includes pulling and routing cables, producing detailed design documentation (cable tables, rack drawings), traveling to customer sites to install and integrate hardware, and managing procurement of all required components and accessories. The role supports rapid, mission‑focused delivery in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cable Management: Pull and terminate cables in server rooms according to design specifications and industry standards.
- Design Production: Create detailed hardware designs, cable tables, and rack elevation drawings using CAD or drawing tools.
- Site Installation: Travel to customer sites, assemble rack systems, install hardware, and verify compliance with drawings and functional requirements.
- Procurement: Identify, source, and order all hardware and accessories needed for each project; track inventory and manage vendor relationships.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence) and provide status updates to stakeholders.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware integration issues quickly to minimize system downtime.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with systems engineers, program managers, and other cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Basic Qualifications
- Active SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
- Minimum 3 years of relevant hardware engineering or integrator experience (cable management, rack design, site installation, or procurement).
- Proficiency in creating rack drawings and cable tables; hands‑on experience with pulling and terminating cabling in data‑center environments.
- Eligible to work in the United States and meet any export control requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware issues rapidly and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Desired Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Project Tools: Experience with Microsoft Project, Jira, or Confluence for tracking tasks and maintaining documentation.
- Operational Ground Systems: Exposure to ground‑system hardware or aerospace‑related hardware integration.
- Team Dynamics: Proven ability to work as a collaborative team member in high‑tempo, mission‑critical projects.
- Work Ethic: Highly responsible, self‑motivated, and committed to delivering high‑quality results.
- AI Prompting: Familiarity with AI prompting techniques relevant to hardware documentation, design automation, or procurement workflows.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
