Standard Job Description
The Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, development, and validation of RF systems and circuitry for high‑frequency and microwave applications. The role bridges concept to production, delivering hardware layouts, prototypes, test methods, and supporting manufacturing through the assembly and test phases. The engineer will also develop RF system/subsystem architectures, perform link analysis, manage performance requirements, and contribute to life‑cycle cost, reliability, and maintainability analyses.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture & Design
- Architect and design RF systems and circuitry, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers.
- Develop RF system/subsystem architectures (antennas, transmitters, receivers, LNAs, HPAs, RF conversion elements, transmission line equipment).
Circuit & Hardware Development
- Design and develop RF circuitry for high‑frequency and microwave applications.
- Perform hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and testing.
Testing & Verification
- Prepare test methods, specifications, and procedures.
- Analyze and test RF hardware to verify performance characteristics.
- Identify and track RF technical performance measurements (TPMs).
Product Development Support
- Provide inputs for formal documentation.
- Support manufacturing during deliverable assembly and test phases.
Link Analysis & Optimization
- Conduct link analysis, including propagation medium effects and interference sources.
- Perform RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV (Cost, Availability, Interoperability, and Value) analysis.
Lifecycle & Reliability Analysis
- Support life‑cycle cost, reliability, availability, and maintainability analyses.
Collaboration & Communication
- Engage with senior personnel on significant technical matters.
- Work under general direction, independently completing tasks with critical‑point reviews.
Basic Qualifications
- Active SECRET security clearance with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant RF engineering experience.
- Post‑secondary degree or formal training in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a closely related discipline (BS, MS, or equivalent experience).
- Radar design experience with performance prediction capabilities.
- Experience designing low‑frequency RF receiver systems.
- Proven experience in detailed design and testing of antenna elements.

- Strong knowledge of industry standards and company practices.
- Ability to develop practical solutions for complex engineering problems.
- Experience working under general direction, setting assignment objectives, and delivering independently.
- Proven ability to influence overall objectives and long‑range goals, and to engage effectively with senior leadership.
- Experience with CAIV analysis, life‑cycle cost, reliability, and maintainability assessments.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
