As the Mission Strategy and Advanced Capabilities Director (MSAC) Senior Manager for Communications Systems, you will lead Strategy Development, Technology Development and New Business Capture for a variety of communication missions. Working within Lockheed Martin Space, this position will report to the MSAC Director of Military and Strategic Communications within the GSA/GC3 Mission Strategy and Advanced Capabilities Deputy (MSAC) Organization (Global Situational Awareness/Global Command, Control and Communications).

 
This position is aligned to the National Security Space (NSS) Line of Business (LOB), and works across the Global Communications and Navigation (GCN) Mission Segment to drive new competitiveness into all-orbit communication solutions. It also works closely with Strategic Communications missions aligned to Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) and the Intelligence Community (IC) and partners with LM International on allied communications and LM Civil and Commercial LOB on commercial opportunities.

In this role the chosen candidate will:

  • Develop and implement mission based strategy, capture, products, solutions, technologies, and new business sales pipelines.
  • Shape and win new business (including re-compete and task order expansions) through a balanced focus on customer value, the competitive environment, and the corporations best interests.
  • Collaborate on the development of capture strategy including business solution for pursuits; identifies potential customers, competitive assessments, teaming suppliers, and prices-to-win; manages bid and proposal activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to create technology roadmaps & related Internal Research & Development (IR&D) and Customer Research & Development (CRAD) projects to create discriminators necessary to develop and win new business.
  • Have responsibility to lead cross-functional teams and authority to direct team activities when leading a pursuit.
  • Maintain ongoing interaction with customers and actively coordinates with LM stakeholders 

 

Standard Job Description: Evaluates and reviews consumer research, point-of-sale and syndicated data. Reports findings for major marketing, distribution, and manufacturing proposals and their impact on the sales function. Participates in the central development and implementation of new products, re-launches, new business building programs, sales rationale, etc. May also participate in presales or sales meetings to review proposed plans. Functions as liaison between regional sales and marketing function. Provides and/or initiates sales analysis affecting distribution, spending as it relates to volume, brand promotional strategy, and selling tools. 

Basic Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading growth of business including managing pipeline, directing resources, and leading capture of new business
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task with various levels of external engagement with suppliers, customers, and Lockheed Martin staff.
• Demonstrated ability to interact, influence, and communicate with executive staff during formal reviews, as well as via informal communications.
• Experience with Space or ground systems
• Willing to travel 25%-50% of the time.
• Strong communication, presentation, and team building skills.
• US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain & maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

• Experience with communications systems, including space or ground applications
• Maintaining strong customer relationships with recurring interaction focused on customer and mission need. Establish new customer relationships to drive growth.
• Familiarity with customer community to span a variety of communication systems, including understanding of key customer priorities & limitations (e.g., budget, policy) that drive the community toward constrained solutions
• Assessment of new opportunities and markets, assisting in the disposition of opportunities based on LM Space strategy and probability of win.
• Oversight of budgets with emphasis on prioritization of spending based on strategic alignment
• Demonstrated Cross organization collaboration with demonstrated new business results. Experience leading in complex environments

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
