Perform a variety of ordinary metrology duties to conduct the periodic inspection and calibration of less complex assets.

Follow general instructions to work from metrology procedures and standards and Sikorsky Tooling Manual to perform inspection and calibration duties. Set up and operate less complex precision gages to inspect and calibrate to metrological standards. Also perform repetitive inspection and calibration operations on thread gages, cylindrical plug gages, and drill pins, etc. Assist higher grade inspectors and perform other similar or related duties. Refer problems or difficulties to higher grade inspector, working leader or foreman.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge of shop mathematics and ability to read and interpret blueprints and use a variety of precision measuring instruments. Also requires some knowledge of drafting and lofting practice and the use of specialized calibration instruments and equipment.
  • Minimum 1 Year in a Metrology Lab Initiative & Ingenuity
  • Follow metrology practices and procedures to inspect and calibrate less complex rotor blade and sheet metal templates.
  • Judgement required to layout and set-up semi-routine jobs to inspect for cut outs, angles of bend, coordination of holes, hole sizes and rivet locations.
  • Physical Demand - Usually light physical effort required in the inspection and calibration of templates and gages and the maintaining of related paper work. Occasionally handle somewhat heavier equipment, metal sheets, or instruments.

  • Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerance Experience
  • Ability to preform basic and complex math problems
