Standard Job Description
Inspects machined or partially machined parts, using predetermined methods and sequences to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications and quality requirements; devises setups to measure the accuracy of compound angles, exacting tolerances, and numerous dimensions. Works from drawings, sketches, and specification. Analyzes defective parts to determine cause of defect and recommends corrective action. May determine method and sequences necessary to perform inspections. May inspect first run and production parts where standard checking devices are not available and special inspection tools and layouts are required. May improvise or adapt inspection measuring instruments as needed. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires considerable knowledge of machining operation and some experience.
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to accurately interpret mechanical blueprints
- Ability to assess products based on specifications and criteria
- Ability to use hand gages (micrometer, caliper, height gage) required for assessing designated criteria
- Working knowledge of statistical process control principles
- Experience in operating Coordinate Measuring Machine preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
- HS diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain security clearance
Desired Skills
- Prior knowledge or experience in using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers and coordinate measuring machines is desired.
- Knowledge and experience in SAP
- Defect documentation
- Inspection experience
- Production experience preferred
- Familiarity with blueprint reading/GD&T
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $43300.00 - $80500.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
