Lockheed Martin (LM) is looking for a Chief Engineer (CE) Senior Manager to be both the overall Chief Engineer and CE manager for a portfolio of programs within the National Security Space/Space Operations and Analytics (SOA) Mission Segment. The SOA mission segment delivers software capabilities and services to a wide spectrum of national security government customers. This role will be primarily responsible for our Enterprise Analytics programs that develop and sustain software systems related to Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT). This position ensures we maintain strong technical rigor in the delivery of our capabilities and services by driving consistent approaches to solution development, system sustainment, operations support and technical status reporting. This role will be the manager of program Chiefs within this portfolio of programs
As the SOA/EA Portfolio Chief Engineer Senior Manager, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Manage a team of high performing software program Chief Engineers and Chief Architects, including hiring for replacements and program expansions
- Providing direct technical engineering support and chief engineering leadership to one or more programs in the portfolio
- Gather and report the status of key program technical activities, issues, risks and CE activities to the Mission Segment Chief Engineer; including reviewing program metrics to proactively identify potential issues and trends requiring intervention
- Primary technical POC for the NSS/SOA/EA portfolio director including support to the portfolio’s periodic operations review meetings
- Drive rigor, consistency and quality into the portfolio program’s technical processes and leadership approaches
- Act as the technical lead for designated NSS/SOA proposals; help to form technical solution authoring teams, define solution approaches, create proposal structures and author portions of the proposal
- Establish and run portfolio program CE/CA business rhythms to drive collaboration and ensure engineering best practices and standards are applied
- Support and backup the Mission Segment Chief Engineer as needed for special projects, status reporting and other engagements
- Lead and support independent technical review teams for new business proposals and executing programs.
- Some travel will be expected. Amount will vary based on primary work location. May range from 10 to 25%.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or other relevant technical discipline
- Currently a program Chief Engineer, Chief Architect or Technical Lead on a program within the NSS/SOA/EA portfolio
- Demonstrated technical leadership of multiple teams
- Demonstrated track record of supporting operational systems in the GEOINT mission domain
- Demonstrated ability to communicate successfully across all levels of an organization from entry level to executive Vice Presidents including with Government technical POCs
- Demonstrated experience responding to Requests For Information (RFIs) and Requests For Proposals (RFPs), including the development of RFI/RFP technical solutions
- U.S. citizenship with an Active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph
Desired Skills
- Experience as a program Chief Engineer for a space-related ground system software development and sustainment effort
- Demonstrated customer briefing experience
- DevSecOps background with a detailed knowledge of the Common Operations Release Environment (CORE)
- Experience working with external vendors/subcontractors
- Experience supporting cost estimating; awareness of cost account management principles, techniques, and processes
- Experience developing business/technical solution vision and strategies for a multi-program portfolio
- Experience coordinating consistent technical solutions and/or execution of teams operating at multiple locations on different program
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $205300.00 - $381300.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
