Introduction

We are looking for a creative Electrical Engineer to join an exciting and dynamic team in designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting complex electrical test equipment used to ensure missile safety.

 

Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Waterton, CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

 

What does this role look like?

The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth with long-term stability. We need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers. You will join the LE2 – Autonomous Flight Termination System (AFTS) team supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program.  You will design and integrate hardware for a critical safety component in the missile.

The role will contain a mix of circuit design, analysis, and simulation, with lab work including building and testing circuit card assemblies (CCAs). Some tools used are Zuken, Hyperlynx, Eldo, and Maxwell. You will test prototypes to ensure the design is functional, write test plans for technicians to check production boards for manufacturing defects, and may supervise testing.

 

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

Example:

  • Design electrical circuits.
  • Support other designers in meetings with layout, routing, and production specialists.
  • Simulate circuit assemblies.
  • Perform Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), part variability analysis, and power and signal integrity analysis.
  • Test developed circuits and write test plans.
  • Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world class avionics systems.
  • Resolve test anomalies and troubleshooting; generation, review and presentation of Product Certification; and support system level testing.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.
  • Experience supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification.
  • Experience in different phases of aerospace hardware development cycle.
  • Experience interacting with peers, management and government customers.
  • Experience in presentations and in written communication skills.
  • Circuit design experience.
  • 1+ years professional experience

 

Designs and develops circuits used in electronic devices. Responsible for layout and mask design, device evaluation and characterization, test box design, prototype construction and checkout, and determination of wafer fabrication processes. Prepares test methods and specifications; analyzes equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests; provides finished device approval; and prepares customer application information.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. 
  • Prior professional experience in circuit design or electronics development. 
  • Experience related to analog and/or digital circuit design and analysis. 
  • Experience with schematic capture and/or circuit simulation tools. 
  • U.S. citizenship required. 

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with electrical test and measurement equipment (e.g., digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and hardware test processes. 
  • Ability to interpret schematics, electrical interfaces, wiring diagrams, and interconnect drawings. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and troubleshooting abilities for circuits, assemblies, and test systems. 
  • Prompt response to email and in-office communications.
  • Understanding of PCB/PWB layout, CCA manufacturing, box build, and hardware integration processes. 
  • Familiarity with Zuken PCB design and circuit analysis suite.
  • Familiarity with Eldo, HyperLynx, LT or P Spice, MathCAD, or Siemens Xpedition.
  • Familiarity with WCCA. 
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
