What We’re Doing
Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.

The Work
C2BMC is a dynamic and exciting program in the Missile Defense and Space mission areas. C2BMC has had a long history of providing solutions to the Missile Defense Agency and continues to be contracted to provide new and innovative solutions to both of these missions. Candidate will be part of an integrated architecture & systems engineering team, on a multi-company teammate program, tasked with defining the operational, physical, functional, and technical architecture necessary to describe the vision and desired capabilities of an evolving C2BMC effort. Candidate will be part of the team that is architecting missile defense command and control and battle management systems in an environment that leverages existing or COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability in mind. Candidate will participate in analyzing high level needs and through a structured and logical approach. Candidate will be responsible for creating System Architecture solutions and concepts for a variety of new and emerging capabilities for the C2BMC system in collaboration with other Architects including lead Systems Architect, software architects, network architect, cyber architect. etc. Communicates and collaborates on System Architecture solutions with other teams such as software developers, networks engineers, cyber engineers, DevSecOps teams, infrastructure teams, test teams, and deployment teams. This includes both physical architecture as well as logical architectures across the System. Additionally. Candidate will interface with project leads, product owners, and MDA customer.

Standard Job Description

Designs, develops and oversees system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities. Serves as focal point for the development and communication of the system architecture. Ensures conversion of mission requirements into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system. Develops systems and system element architecture, design, and interface definition. Supports internal and external design reviews. Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies and design and analysis methodologies. Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.

Basic Qualifications

-Active TS clearance is required for consideration
-Deep understanding of systems engineering processes and software engineering principles
-Proven record of applying those principles to craft product solutions that are maintainable, reliable, usable, and scalable
-System architecture artifacts knowledge: Experience producing, reviewing, and maintaining items such as: Requirements specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Study reports, Data Flow Diagrams, analyses (reliability, maintainability, usability, scalability, etc.), and other MBSE deliverables
-Hands on work with Object Oriented Analysis/Design (OOA/OOD) and implementation of large, integrated software systems that meet strict goals
-Capable of writing and executing detailed engineering plans within a project environment

Desired Skills

-Experience with systems analysis, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), virtualization, containerization, and cloud computing principles
-Processing sensor data knowledge
-Team collaboration: Comfortable working in cross disciplinary teams that include systems, software, and specialty engineers to deliver end to end solutions.
-Excellent written skills and the ability to present technical approaches and findings clearly to both technical and non technical audiences
-TS/SCI clearance is a plus
-Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
