Job Description

Location: Grand Prairie, TX or Orlando, FL

Work Schedule: 4/10 Flex; Hybrid with at least 2 days onsite per week; occasional early‑morning or late‑evening work as determined by business needs

Travel: ~10 % travel annually (MFC sites, conferences, stakeholder meetings)

The Communications Representative Staff will spearhead integrated communications planning and storytelling for Missiles and Fire Control and enterprise-wide Operations communications priorities, with particular emphasis on Munitions Acceleration, manufacturing transformation and production growth in partnership with the Employee & Executive Communications team, Program Communications, and Business Area counterparts. The selected candidate will serve as the direct strategic communications advisor to the Operations vice president, including executive communications, employee engagement and communications supporting Operations priorities. The role will also provide strategic communications support to the Quality and Mission Success vice president and Global Supply Chain vice president and their organizations.

 

Key Skills and Responsibilities

  • Serves as direct communications support and strategic advisor to Operations VP Mike Patton, including executive communications, employee engagement and communications supporting Operations priorities. 
  • Provides strategic communications support to Quality and Mission Success VP Jason Crager and Global Supply Chain VP Andy Booker and their organizations. 
  • Leads integrated communications planning and storytelling for enterprise-wide Operations priorities, with particular emphasis on Munitions Acceleration, manufacturing transformation and production growth. 
  • Connects regional site communications with broader Operations and MFC priorities, helping ensure consistency of messaging and visibility across the production footprint. 
  • Collaborates closely with functional, program, employee and external communications partners on major initiatives, announcements and milestones. 
  • Represents MFC Communications for OneLM Operations initiatives, including World Quality Month and other enterprise campaigns. 
  • Provides crisis and issues communications surge support for sites and Operations organizations outside established regional coverage. 
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned. 

MUST BE A US CITIZEN-This role is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field with 5+ years of experience including internal communications or corporate communications; OR bachelor’s or master’s degree in an unrelated field with 10+ years of internal communications or corporate communications experience.
  • Must have the ability to travel approximately 10%
  • Strong writing, editing and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways.
  • Previous strategic communications experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with internal communication platforms and AP Style.
  • Actively contributes to the development of new integrated communications concepts.
  • Possesses full knowledge of industry practices, demonstrating expertise in integrated marketing communications and related disciplines.
  • Develops innovative communications solutions to a range of complex issues, consistent with business objectives.
  • Works without direction and work is reviewed upon completion, consistent with communications goals and business objectives.
  • Guides major projects to completion. Decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the organization.
  • Engages with senior personnel on significant communications matters.

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role. 

  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $111400.00 - $206800.00

  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $100200.00 - $186200.00
