About the role
We are urgently seeking to recruit an Integration and Test Engineer to be based predominantly on-site at our Ampthill, Bedfordshire offices.
You must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake an appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting according to UK Government National Security Vetting criteria: DV Clearance will be required for the role - applicants should either already hold a DV or being prepared to go through an application immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning & ExecutionDesign comprehensive test plans, cases, procedures, and reports.Execute test campaigns in line with specifications and timeline.Validate and analyse test data for accuracy and completeness.Documentation & Communication Author, review and sign off on all test documentation (plans, reports, logs).Provide clear, concise status updates to stakeholders (internal/external).Plan and carry out Test Readiness ReviewsTest Facility ManagementIdentify, evaluate and contract suitable test facilities via the supply‑chain representative.Act as the primary technical liaison with contracted facilities.Coordinate equipment transport to and from sites.System IntegrationDevelop and integrate automated test scripts into the broader tool ecosystem.Integrate large, complex solutions within the wider system‑of‑systems framework.Cross‑Functional CollaborationWork within a large, multi‑disciplinary engineering team to deliver systems on tight deadlines.Participate in verification and qualification trials (UK Defence Industry).Safety & SecurityEnsure all testing activities being conducted comply with safety protocols.Enforce data and equipment security requirements during testing.Field DeploymentsDeploy to trial sites for the duration of test campaigns as required.Travel between sites for meetings, reviews, and de‑briefs.
Required skills, qualifications and experience

Communication
- Excellent verbal and written communication – able to produce clear, concise reports and present findings to technical & non‑technical audiences.
Test Engineering
- Proven experience creating test plans, cases, procedures, and reports for system integration/verification.
Test & Integration Experience
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience in qualification/verification trials, ideally within defence‑related systems.
Strategic Planning
- Experience developing strategies to support formal product sell‑off and acceptance.
Tool Proficiency
- Familiarity with usage and deployment of instrumentation including thermocouples, strain gauges, accelerometers.
- Experience and usage of Data acquisition tools (data loggers, video loggers) used in a test environment.
- Configuration GUIs/HMIs, Emulators, Operating Systems, Interface Protocols.
Fault Diagnosis
- Ability to investigate, document, and report faults or anomalies in complex systems.
Desired Skills
- Integration & verification of software‑inclusive or IP‑networked military systems.
- Familiarity with UK Defence industry ‘Qualification & Verification Trials’ and the associated acceptance process.
- Experience with vehicle system integration & verification.
- Independent work‑planning and estimation skills.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following Systems Engineering tools
- IBM DOORS NG
- IBM Rational Quality Manager
- Cameo Systems Modeler
