The selected individual shall supervise the Quality Department staff and maintain the site Quality Management System for F-35 aircraft Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) located at NAS Lemoore, California. 

 

What You Will Be Doing:

Candidate will manage more than one functional area in Quality, Reliability, Test, or Inspection. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for resource allocation, work assignments and establishing/maintaining an effective business rhythm. Responsible for all aspects of quality for assigned area of responsibility. Communicates quality requirements, concerns and expectations. Active participant in risk and opportunity management processes. Ensures cost commitments and financial responsibilities are met. Ensures appropriate identification and flow down of quality requirements (internal and contractual) and effective implementation of quality requirements. Ensures effective implementation of quality management system within area of responsibility. Ensures effective implementation of a metrics program and actively address adverse trends. Ensures product acceptance and delivery per established process and program requirements. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise Quality Assurance Inspector(s) that inspect aircraft servicing, repair, modifications and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure that aircraft are in sound mechanical condition and safe for flight. The candidate is expected to ensure that all scheduled and unscheduled surveillance activities are conducted within specified time frames, with the results communicated with the customer. 
  • Ensure that all tech data, orders, directives, and other applicable LM proprietary or government documents are controlled. 
  • Conduct or supervise investigations of any quality related nonconformity, incident, accident, mishap, or infraction. 
  • Ensure good housekeeping and safety practices are followed facilitate Root Cause/Corrective action events, communicate regularly with the maintenance and Government customers and report performance metrics. 
  • Develop, conduct and/or supervise the Internal Process audits ensuring compliance to AS9100 directives and Government customer requirements.
  • Responsible for subordinate training, performance assessment, work assignments, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
  • Assist with the company Environmental/Safety/Health requirements for the Lockheed Martin employees on-site. 
  • Provides technical assistance as required.
  • Some travel may be required. Must be willing to deploy to various locations (within and outside the US). 
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by manager.

Basic Qualifications

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

 

  • Must have at least 6 years aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Must have at least 2 years of supervisory experience, either within the aerospace industry and/or the military. 
  • Must have been previously awarded a USN/USMC Advanced Skills Management 6000 rating, MATMEP Level 4, Air Force 5-9 Level, or equivalent.
  • Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at facility that requires special access.
  • Must possess at minimum Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting and be able to obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must possess a valid State Driver’s License. 
  • Must be able to work a Flexible Shift Schedule.

Desired Skills

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:

 

  • Experience as a Quality Assurance Supervisor/Inspector in an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Fighter aircraft maintenance experience. - Fifth generation aircraft experience.
  • Experience with Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS). 
  • Familiar with DCMAI 8210.1D and associated Consolidated Ground Operation Procedures. 
  • Familiar with OPNAV Instruction 4790.2 and associated instructions.
  • Experienced with planning, executing, and recording Process Compliance Surveillance Program audits
  • Experience with conducting audits that comply with AS9100/9100 standards.
  • Experience with process compliance, write/review Corrective Action/Preventative Action reports, perform root cause analysis, and validate quality processes, responses, and plans.
  • Possess effective communication skills for coordinating with Aircraft Managers/Supervisors, Field Service Reps, System Engineers, Maintenance Logistics Support Managers, Customer (Government Contract Quality Assurance) and maintainers regarding quality issues, Deficiency Analysis/Reporting, customer complaints, and other issues related to quality as they occur.
  • Demonstrated organizational/administrative skills. 
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite products. 
  • Experience with Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE)/Ground Support Equipment (GSE); safety programs; maintenance information system; formal on-the-job training methods; tool & FOD industry standards; calibration and procedures.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
