The Work
We are seeking innovative, collaborative engineers to support this transformation.
This role emphasizes cross-organization collaboration and solution architecture. The Systems Engineer interfaces with product teams, Cross-BA teams, stakeholders, and SEIT leadership to define and deliver digital architecture solutions that support the 1LMX transformation.

This role requires the ability to acquire and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Travel: Up to 25% CONUS travel as required.
Job Description
The candidate will perform Systems Engineering effort for the integration of cutting edge digital solutions across the organization’s engineering and operations domains. This role will support cross functional teams, support adoption of modern architectures, and help ensure that system of systems meet 1LMX RMS requirements and standards
Responsibilities
• Requirements Elicitation & Analysis -
Capture functional needs, constraints, and performance criteria; perform gap analysis versus existing 1LMX RMS capabilities.
• Functional Specification Development - Author detailed functional specifications, use cases, and user stories that align with enterprise architecture standards. Ensure traceability from high level business objectives through to detailed functional requirements and verification criteria.
• 1LMX RMS Integration & Configuration - Configure and tailor 1LMX RMS to support captured functional requirements, including taxonomy, workflow, and change control processes.
• Verification & Validation - Develop testable verification criteria; work with verification engineers to confirm that functional specifications are met.
• Documentation & Communication - Support maintaining a centralized repository of requirement artifacts, version histories, and rationale documents. Produce regular status reports, traceability matrices, and risk assessments for senior leadership.
• Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to streamline the requirements lifecycle, propose process improvements, and adopt best practices (e.g., ISO/IEC 15288, SYSML).

Basic Qualifications
• Proven experience working with requirements management tools (1LMX, DOORS Next Gen, LeanIX, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of requirements engineering processes.
• Proficiency in modeling techniques (UML, SysML, DODAF)
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and Cameo Models
Desired Skills
• Analytical mindset with strong problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of cross functional teams.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or high technology environments.
• Agile/SCRUM familiarity for iterative requirement development.
Pay Information
GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $106600.00 - $198000.00

- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): :$95900.00 - $178100.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
