The Opportunity

AIR6500 will provide a Joint Air Battle Management System capability for the Royal Australian Air Force. The system will provide multi domain integration of air, electromagnetic, and missile defence battle management including deployable & fixed operations centres, communications, and both active & passive sensors.

The DevSecOps Analyst is part of the Common Operating Environment team and will be responsible for:

  • Deploying, maintaining and supporting the tool suite for the AIR6500 program.
  • Supporting the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for the AIR6500 development environment, primarily the promotion and deployment of code through the SDLC.

Key Requirements

As our DevSecOps Analyst, you will be a trusted technical partner to project teams, helping create and maintain secure, efficient environments that support faster and more reliable software delivery.

  • Partner with developers to identify, troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment issues.
  • Champion source control best practice and contribute to robust, repeatable delivery workflows.
  • Build, enhance and maintain CI/CD and DevOps infrastructure that enables automated builds, testing and deployments.
  • Monitor and support DevOps platforms, including container orchestration, build systems, monitoring tools and dashboards.
  • Administer DevSecOps-controlled hosts and support the maintenance of subsystem tools.
  • Contribute across the software delivery lifecycle, from build checkout and testing through to system integration and release.
  • Support operational and test software releases, helping teams deliver with confidence.
  • Deploy and maintain Model Based Engineering, software development and project management tools.
  • Automate and improve project business processes to increase efficiency, consistency and security.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Linux environments and MBE/software development toolsets.

What you'll bring

You will combine strong technical capability with a collaborative approach and a genuine interest in secure, modern software delivery.

  • Significant experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Strong knowledge of repository management and CI/CD tools such as GitLab and Nexus.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Ansible, Terraform and Packer.
  • Strong working knowledge of Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of cyber security tooling and practices, including SAST and DAST, aligned with the Information Security Manual (ISM).
  • Strong experience across Linux and Windows operating systems, including application deployment and troubleshooting.
