Standard Job Description

Interprets, recommends, and complies with environmental, health and safety regulations and/or company policies. Assists in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet ground safety and occupational safety requirements of the F-35 program. Leads semi annual safety audits for the F-35 program and supports all ESH issues in support of the F-35 program at Edwards Air Force Base. Develops and implements safety program to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions, using knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, and industrial health and safety laws. Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment, facilities, to determine if all safety precautions have been included. Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Investigates industrial accidents and close calls to minimize recurrence. Leads hearing conservation, confined space, fall protection, LOTO and other pertainent safety programs. Ensures compliance with DCMA regulations related to aircraft safety.  Supports flight safety staff as needed and is an intergral part of all aircaft safety incidents.   

Basic Qualifications

Guide the successful completion of ground safety and occupational safety programs in a project leadership role

Experience with fast paced high profile aircraft maintenance and manufacturing environments

Strong project management skills

Desired Skills

BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience or MS in related field

Good communications skills both written and oral

Experience communicating across levels of an organization, functions and teams

Military customer facing experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81500.00 - $151300.00
