Join us at Lockheed Martin as an ElectroMechanical Engineer where you will be responsible for product design, development, and production support for the Cable and Interconnects team on the Enterprise Cable and Harness team supporting multiple programs across the LM Space Enterprise.
Location: This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Highlands Ranch CO-Lucent Twrs (5535), US CA Sunnyvale LM Way (1066), US PA King of Prussia Mall Blv (1029 or and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.
What does this role look like?
- We are seeking a meticulous ECAD/MCAD Design Checker to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of electronic and mechanical design drawings.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong eye for detail, solid knowledge of industry standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively with design engineers, product managers, and quality teams.
- Drawing Review & Verification
- Perform thorough inspections of ECAD (schematics) and MCAD (mechanical CAD) drawings for correctness, completeness, and adherence to company and industry standards (e.g., IPC, ASME, ISO).
- Validate component placement, part numbers, tolerances, material specifications, and manufacturing constraints.
- Cross‑check bill of materials (BOM) against drawings and design files for consistency.
- Compliance & Standards Enforcement
- Ensure all drawings meet internal design guidelines, program specific rules, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update design checklists, check‑sheet templates, and reference documentation.
- Issue Identification & Resolution
- Flag discrepancies, missing information, or potential manufacturability issues; document findings in clear, actionable reports.
- Work closely with design engineers to resolve identified issues, providing constructive feedback and recommendations.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of review activities, decisions, and change orders in the PLM/EDM system.
- Generate summary reports and metrics on drawing quality, defect trends, and turnaround times.
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in design review meetings, root‑cause analyses, and lessons‑learned sessions.
- Contribute to the evolution of design‑checking processes, tools, and best practices.
To be effective in this role, you will need:
- 3+ years of professional experience.
- While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes (connectors, crimping, soldering, forming, testing)
- Experience reviewing ECAD (e.g., Zuken E3 Cable) and MCAD (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) drawings.
- Familiarity with IPC‑2221/2222, ASME Y14.5, ISO‑9001, and Mil Standard drawing guidelines.
Desired Skills
- Proficient with Zuken.E3 and Creo Parametric tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and wiring diagrams.
- Certifications such as IPC Designer (CID, CID‑M), GD&T, or - Quality Assurance (e.g., CQE).
- Experience with project management or ticket‑tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of Cable and Harness manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00
