The Project Engineer integrates technical, cost, and schedule data to keep mission-critical projects on track. Serving as a key liaison across engineering, program, and government stakeholders, this role ensures project compliance, risk mitigation, and successful delivery through rigorous planning and coordination.
Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain technical, cost, and schedule aspects of contracts and generate earned value and risk assessments.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans and Basis of Estimates while supporting Control Account Management (CAM).
- Collaborate with engineering, program, and government stakeholders to resolve anomalies and drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in customer, government, and audit reviews, ensuring compliance and clear communication of project status.
- Report progress, issues, and achievements to the Directorate and Program leadership.
- Work cross-functionally to develop proposal deliverables, including scoping documents, fact-finding presentations, and Basis of Estimates.
- Coordinate the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
- Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related technical field
• Possess strong customer relationship management skills to include outreach and communications experience
• Demonstrated ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope
• Program/project management experience and demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and/or Control Account Management (CAM) or comparable experience
• Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
Desired Skills
• Candidate must be available for occasional domestic travel (up to 25 %).
• Experience managing and prioritizing multiple high‑priority tasks.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Experience in Project Planning and/or Project Management.
• Experience working proposals, contracts and/or process development and improvement.
• Experience with project performance and metric tools such as Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Tableau.
Pay Information
GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $131100.00 - $243500.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $118000.00 - $219100.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $104900.00 - $194700.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $94400.00 - $175200.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Lufkin, TX; etc.

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
