Standard Job Description
Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communication, English, Journalism, or related field
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and experience using SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms for document management
Ability to produce clear, concise, and grammatically correct content that articulates technical concepts to a wide range of audiences
Aptitude for translating complex technical information into user-friendly documentation
Attention to detail, especially editing and proofreading skills
Desired Skills
Proven ability to write, edit, and maintain highly technical engineering documentation
Knowledge of the Space Industry or engineering topics, or the ability to learn about such topics quickly
Ability to tailor documentation for varied audiences while preserving technical accuracy
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $67400.00 - $125200.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
