Job Description
Job Title:  Engineering Integration Coordinator - UH-60M Black Hawk
Posting Start Date:  9/8/26

The opportunity

Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an active Australian Government Defence security clearance at the level required for the position.

Join Lockheed Martin Australia's Verification & Validation Centre of Excellence and play a key role in delivering verification expertise across a diverse portfolio of Defence and national security programs.

If you enjoy taking complex technical problems, bringing the right people together and driving them through to a practical outcome, this is a role where you can make a visible difference.

Working closely with Australian Army, Lockheed Martin's Australia and Sikorsky international engineering teams, you'll help turn frontline technical questions into clear, coordinated engineering action in support of the UH-60M Black Hawk capability.

This is more than a request-management role. You'll work across organisational and technical boundaries, helping ensure engineering issues are clearly understood, directed to the right expertise, progressed with appropriate priority and translated into useful outcomes for the customer and program.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable operating in the space between engineering, technical specialists, program teams and the customer.

You don't need to personally have every technical answer. You do need to know how to understand the problem, ask good questions, frame it in the right way to find the right expertise and keep an issue moving until an effective outcome is achieved.

Why this role matters

Engineering reach-back is an important part of sustaining a complex aviation capability, but its value isn't measured by how many requests are processed.

It is measured by whether the right technical problem reaches the right people, whether decisions are made with the information they need, and whether the resulting engineering support helps the customer deliver capability.

You'll have an opportunity to influence how that interface develops as the Australian UH-60M sustainment enterprise continues to mature — including how engineering knowledge is captured, how recurring issues are identified and how Australian and international engineering resources are connected to the needs of the program.

This role will suit someone who likes being at the centre of complex problems without needing to be the centre of attention.

If you're someone who sees a technical problem and instinctively starts working out who needs to be involved, what needs to happen next and how to get it moving, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating engineering support and technical reach-back activities across Australian and international engineering teams through Jira.
  • Working directly with Army stakeholders to understand technical issues, clarify requirements and ensure requests are appropriately framed before entering the engineering workflow.
  • Managing engineering requests through Jira and associated systems, maintaining clear ownership, priority, status and visibility through to closure.
  • Actively driving requests rather than simply tracking them, identifying blockers and bringing together the people needed to maintain momentum.
  • Monitoring agreed turnaround times and engineering support commitments, escalating emerging schedule or delivery risks where appropriate.
  • Translating technical discussions and engineering responses into clear information for program and customer stakeholders.
  • Identifying recurring technical issues, emerging themes and systemic trends across engineering requests.
  • Using request data and operational feedback to help identify opportunities for improved processes, knowledge capture and more proactive engineering support.
  • Developing productive working relationships across engineering, maintenance, logistics, program management and subcontractor organisations.
  • Maintaining and reporting on key reporting metrics and performance metrics on responsiveness to Program executives and Army Command.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in aviation maintenance, engineering, Defence sustainment, technical services or another complex technical environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence working directly with customers and technical specialists.
  • The ability to understand and communicate technical information without losing sight of the operational requirement.
  • Strong coordination and organisational skills across multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Sound judgement around priority, risk, escalation and stakeholder expectations.
  • A bias toward action and the confidence to follow up, challenge constructively and drive issues toward resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Jira or similar workflow, engineering request or issue-management systems would be advantageous.
  • Previous Defence, aviation sustainment, engineering support or ADF experience would be highly regarded.
