Join the UH-60M Black Hawk program and take a key role in supporting the integrity, airworthiness and ongoing sustainment of this critical Defence aviation capability.
As the UH-60M Propulsion Systems Engineer, you will provide specialist engineering expertise across the T700 propulsion system, undertaking technical assessments, supporting airworthiness activities and investigating in-service engineering issues. Working alongside Defence, OEMs and experienced aviation engineering professionals, you will help ensure propulsion systems remain safe, compliant and effective throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
This is an opportunity to apply your aerospace and propulsion expertise to complex real-world challenges while contributing directly to the operational capability of the UH-60M Black Hawk fleet.
Key Responsibilities
The UH-60M Propulsion Systems Engineer’s primary responsibilities include:

- Assess OEM propulsion system repairs and Changes to Type Design against Australian airworthiness, configuration and operational requirements
- Monitor propulsion system publications and technical documentation for changes affecting maintenance, configuration and Airworthiness Limitations
- Lead technical investigations into in-service T700 engine issues, incidents and failures, and support the development of engineering solutions
- Support the identification, assessment and incorporation of Engine Airworthiness Limitations and Propulsion Structural Integrity Program activities
- Provide specialist engineering advice on propulsion system integrity, safety, airworthiness and mandatory DASA reporting requirements
- Collaborate with Defence, OEMs and engineering stakeholders to deliver propulsion engineering and sustainment outcomes for the UH-60M fleet
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A Bachelor Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Extensive engineering experience with strong knowledge of aircraft propulsion, engine and mechanical systems
- Experience working within aviation airworthiness, design, sustainment or engineering integrity environments
- Strong technical investigation, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Design Engineer Authority for the UH-60M Black Hawk, or relevant engineering authority and experience aligned to the requirements of the role
- CPEng, RPEQ and/or experience within a Defence System Program Office environment will be highly regarded
- NV1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
