Standard Job Description
PERFORMS SUCH TYPICAL DISTINGUISHING DUTIES AS:
Procures and expedites the delivery of purchased/fabricated parts, raw materials, nonproductive supplies, equipment; and assemblies to meet customer emergencies, alleviate all types of shortages, and insure realization of schedules. Exercising a knowledge of computer systems in Production Control, Material, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Order Writing, Planning, and other areas; detects and investigates discrepancies in computer reports and working documents and initiates corrective action as required. Determines availability of items or an acceptable source of supply or substitution by reference to technical data when required. Investigates the cause of chronic shortages, delays, and similar critical problems in the manufacture of tools, parts, and assemblies and initiates appropriate corrective action, coordinating with the responsible organization and personnel. Transports or initiates transportation of materials to and from designated areas in accordance with standard procedures.
Initiates release of balance stock orders to cover current production requirements. Determines the necessity for the writing of splits or for the resequencing of open orders and takes other action necessary to ensure completion of items and scheduled delivery of same to using point designation.
Engages with Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Material, Tooling Order Writing, Fabrication, Inspection, and Assembly organizations; Company facilities and paperwork and locations of parts, materials, equipment, and tools stored within stockrooms, stores, cribs, etc.; Company and customer automated systems such as Procurement Automatic Data Acquisition Information System (P ADAIS) and Manufacturing Inventory Control System (MICS); operation of Company vehicles, carryalls, scooters, electric forklifts, and tugs; and operation of a computer workstation and related state-of-the-art and conventional office equipment.
PERFORMS SUCH RELATED DUTIES AS:
Locates misplaced or lost paperwork.
Recommends the rework or disassembly of in-stock items to meet customer requirements.Prepares, maintains, and submits periodic reports to supervision concerning the status of
items, shortages, behind-schedule conditions, and actions accomplished to alleviate same.
Verifies total procurement time of parts and assemblies by ascertaining fabrication and
assembly time spans, completion dates of in-process items, and availability of stock items,
transmitting such information to interested personnel.
Performs various heavy manual tasks in support of the duties described herein.
Ability to obtain and maintain Company licenses, certifications, and training as required
for assigned tasks and governmental agencies
Basic Qualifications
Must possess a California class "C" driver's license
Must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of or have successfully completed training in
the following: entry level blueprint and technical data comprehension.
Experience in material handling

Pay Information
- $26.58 - $42.25
