Standard Job Description
Plans, coordinates, directs, and/or performs engineering assignments involving specifications for, and design changes or alterations to, aircraft, engines, systems, components, and field or shop equipment; investigates and analyzes project requirements and operating problems and develops recommended solutions to meet company governmental safety and performance standards including Minimum Equipment List (MEL); evaluates, selects, applies, and/or adapts engineering modifications; designs or recommends new or modified parts and components; analyzes reparability of parts and components; evaluates operating data on parts, components, and systems to establish causes and to determine remedies for wear, malfunctions, or premature removals; analyzes and evaluates aircraft and associated equipment proposals; prepares technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required publications.
Authoring and Sustainment of F-35 Flight Series Data (FSD) including, but is not limited to:
- Normal and Emergency Operating Procedures
- System Descriptions
- Aircraft Operating Limitations
- Stores Limitations
- Aircraft Performance Data
- Pilot’s In-flight Checklist
- FSD Scheduling, Statusing, Development of Plans, and Quality Metrics
- Development and sustainment of FSD products resulting from engineering changes, new business development, customer generated change requests, Flight Manual Review Conferences, and weapons certifications
- Verification Support of FSD, including desk top analysis and actual performance validations (on and off-site)
Basic Qualifications
- Experience using flight technical manuals.
- Experience with aircraft or avionics or weapons delivery technical manuals.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility which requires special access.
Desired Skills
-Experience with military flight manuals, with use of in-flight checklists preferred. Working knowledge of avionics theory of operation and integration with aircraft systems also a plus. Experience using XML or VISTA authoring tool desired.
-Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- Aptitude to learn Extensible Markup Language (XML) tagging in a composite database environment.
-Ability to interpret complex technical drawing, system descriptions, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer specifications into clear, concise instructions used in pilot procedural manuals and avionics/weapons delivery manuals.
-Strong written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Proficient presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
