The Application Engineering Manager role is responsible for Saber PLM Acceleration in the development of application solutions for capability enablement within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) ecosystems. This development is the cornerstone for successfully enabling LM Aero Operation’s business transformation for all Lines of Businesses and programs. This role manages the continual sustainment of all PLM system tools at the execution level for all of AERO.
What You Will Be Doing
The role will lead the Saber PLM Acceleration effort, delivering application solutions that expand capability across the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) ecosystems, core drivers of Lockheed Martin Aero’s enterprise wide business transformation. The manager oversees the ongoing sustainment of all PLM tools at the execution level for every Aero line of business, while directing a high performing team of Application Engineers. Key responsibilities include defining technical requirements, guiding cross functional alignment on scope and strategy, managing staffing, training, work assignments, and performance reviews, and fostering a high performance culture through coaching, mentorship, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong project management expertise, deep PLM/ MES implementation experience in high mix, high volume environments, and the ability to lead semi virtual teams using Agile practices and full spectrum leadership competencies.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Manages the compilation of information on the capabilities of company products; directs the investigation of the technical capabilities of company products and competing equipment, the analyses of customer problems, and collaboration in designing systems to satisfy customer needs. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Basic Qualifications
- Project management experience.
- Experience with technical requirements generation and specification development.
- Experience with PLM implementation, integration, and sustainment in high mix, high volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading large scale sustainment programs, change control processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline
- Aerospace and Defense experience
- Experience in manufacturing systems, requirements, and methods
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (TeamCenter or 3DX) experience
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (CAMS, iBASEt, Apriso) experience
- Knowledge/experience of 1LMX and Saber program initiatives/efforts
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a semi-virtual team.
- Working knowledge of Agile processes
- Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership competencies
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
