Chief Engineer – Raptor Release Pipeline
The Chief Engineer (CE) for the Raptor Release Pipeline is responsible for ensuring the integrity, quality, and timeliness of software releases across the F-22 programs. This role collaborates closely with Software Quality, Configuration Management, Program Management, and Release Captains to drive disciplined release practices, support change governance, and uphold engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee software releases and sign release paperwork
- Attend change board meetings to stay informed of upcoming software changes and provide engineering input.
- Ensure teams follow established processes for software releases, including documentation, testing, and configuration control.
- Participate in planning events with development teams to align release schedules and resource needs.
- Support Quality Gate Reviews and Capability Summaries to validate readiness and compliance.
- Collaborate with Software CE on waivers and process updates, ensuring any exceptions are justified and tracked.
- Coordinate with SW Quality, Configuration Management, Program Managers, and Release Captains to guarantee on‑time, high‑quality software deliveries.
- Analytical thinking: Ability to assess risks and impacts of software changes.
- Leadership: Influence technical teams without direct authority.
- Attention to detail: Ensure all release artifacts are complete and accurate.
- Negotiation: Resolve conflicts between schedule, quality, and scope.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other Technical Degree.
- Systems engineering experience and/or aircraft integration experience
- Demonstrated expertise in software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release governance.
- Strong knowledge of configuration management tools and release automation platforms.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
Desired Skills
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, or high‑assurance software environments.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and change board processes.
- Proven track record of leading cross‑functional teams through complex, multi‑program releases.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $182500.00 - $338900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
