Standard Job Description

Have the ability to prepare aircraft surfaces,
mask, spray prime and apply finish coatings to
exterior surfaces. Prepare and apply material for
aerodynamic smoothing and flushness. Able to
accurately cut materials to specific dimensions
and bond to specified surfaces within exact
tolerances.
Must be able to interpret blueprints, process
specifications, knowledge of basic shop
mathematics and follow complex application
procedures. Mask complex configurations. Set up
and operate various types of spray guns and
other painting equipment. Have the technique to
apply prime and finishing materials to correct
thicknesses and use proper measuring inspection
equipment to verify. Mix material including
primers, top coats, sealants and fillers to correct
ratios. Make patterns, cut and bond materials to
contoured surfaces.
Standing/Sitting: Requires full time standing
with limited resting periods and to walk
distances. Sit for extended periods if required.
Heights: Able to work at heights. Able to climb
stairs or ladders as required. Able to work off of
step stools, scissor lifts, lift platforms and aircraft
structure without handrails.
Overhead work: Able to work overhead as
required.
Weight restriction: Able to Lift/push/pull/carry a
minimum of 25 lbs
Body positioning: Able to twist/bend (neck or
waist) and stoop. Able to work in awkward
positions as required. Able to
squat/kneel/crawl/reach as required.
Work content: Able to use/hold/manipulate
small tools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation
is required. Able to use vibrating tools and
perform torqueing operations. Able to use
power moving equipment and power moving
equipment. Repetitive tasks will be performed.
Vision/Hearing: High level Hand/Eye
coordination required. Corrective lenses may be
used. Eye protection required in many
instances. Color differentiation may be required.
Must be able to hear at level required for
positions.
Environmental: Able to work around noise,
chemicals, fumes and dust. Capable of using
respirators and other personal protective
equipment including hearing protection if
required. Able to work outside if needed.
Attendance: Regular attendance required based
on set work schedule. Able to work any shift.
Vehicles/Power moving equipment: Able to
operate equipment or machinery as required.
Able to work around heavy equipment and
machinery.
Must be able to work any shift.

Basic Qualifications

Must be able to interpret blueprints.
Set up and operate various types of spray guns
and other painting equipment.
Prep: Sand and Mask complex configurations.

Desired Skills

Ability to prep, apply coatings and bond
materials to metal or composite parts. Robotic
experience is a plus. Ability to mitre, blend,
smooth, treat and finish parts to meet flushness
and engineering requirements. Mix material
including primers, top coats, sealants and fillers
to correct ratios. Make patterns, cut and bond
materials to contoured surfaces.
