The Aero Operations AI Team at Lockheed Martin Aerospace is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to serve as a project lead, budget steward, and trusted technical liaison embedded directly with our customers.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Operation AI Forward Deployed Engineer - Level 4 you will be responsible for leading end‑to‑end delivery of AI‑driven solutions in production environments, translating customer requirements into actionable roadmaps, and ensuring seamless integration of advanced AI technologies into operational workflows.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of AI‑driven solutions, converting customer needs into clear project roadmaps.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to achieve on‑time, on‑budget outcomes.
- Serve as the technical liaison across multi‑disciplinary teams, aligning stakeholders and driving AI integration.
- Oversee the full lifecycle—from concept and prototype through deployment, validation, and ongoing support—focused on measurable efficiency gains.
- Establish and maintain data pipelines, analytics capabilities, and KPI tracking to quantify productivity improvements.

Responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to develop immersive stories that answer business questions. Using proven and sound statistical methods, the analyst draws insights from data, and translates those insights into action that drive business results. Data Analysts are extremely resourceful and able to find novel new data sources to enrich their analysis. They apply mathematical and statistical methods to business and risk management problems.Mine, process, and summarize data; Manage the quality assurance of data scraping, query databases for stakeholder requests, and triage data issues for timely resolutions; Analyze large datasets, draw valid inferences and prepare insights in narrative or visual forms, including dashboards; Set up and maintain data processes and new analytics capabilities; Produce and track key performance indicators; Ability to formulate functional and technical requirements from business problems; Program management of key tasks and resources to achieve cost and schedule
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Distribution, Engineering, AI/ML or related field
- Proficiency in Python and foundational machine learning concepts
- Understanding of agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Experience preparing, tracking, and reporting budgets of $2 M+; comfortable using financial tools (SAP, Oracle, Excel) to monitor cost performance.
- Ability to negotiate scope, timelines, and resources with stakeholders and customers.
Desired Skills
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Distribution, Engineering, AI/ML or related field
- Familiarity with Computer Vision (CV) models, Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI(GenAI)
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with GenAI Coding Assistants
- Proven ability to deliver measurable efficiency or productivity improvements (e.g., reduced cycle time, increased throughput) through AI solutions.
- Experience with agentic AI frameworks
- knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with data‑governance frameworks, metadata management, and data catalog tools.
- Experience with aircraft manufacturing processes
- Strong organization and communication skills
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
