What You Will Be Doing

This role will manage/lead a team of Corrective Action Request (CAR) coordinators across F-35 operations. Responsible for the effective timeliness, accuracy and management of CAR's in support customer and company goals. Must have the ability to lead effectively through various work flows across a diverse manufacturing environment.

Manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Monitors the assessment of project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Insures the development of mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Basic Qualifications

 

 

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of root‑cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault Tree).
  • Analytical & Problem‑Solving Ability:
    • Proficient in data analysis, metrics tracking, and reporting to monitor CAR trends and drive continuous improvement.

Desired Skills

 

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • familiarity with aerospace supplier programs, and experience in a high‑mix, low‑volume production environment.
  • Experience and working knowledge with complex manufacturing systems/processes and experience working with and collaborating with multi-functional disciplines including engineering, supply chain and quality assurance.
  • Ability to interact and coordinate CAR activities with customers including DCMA, GGR, JPO a plus. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proven track record of managing corrective‑action processes, preferably Customer Action Requests (CARs) or similar quality‑driven initiatives.
  • Experience interfacing with production operations, quality engineering, and customers on defect resolution.
  • Leadership & Interpersonal Skills: Interfacing with Customers, Production Engineering and Quality assurance
  • Ability to prioritize multiple CARs simultaneously while maintaining focus on critical issues.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, understanding their expectations and ensuring corrective actions meet contractual obligations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and contractual requirements for corrective‑action documentation and closure.
  • Attention to detail in preparing and reviewing Corrective Action Plans, verification reports, and closure records.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
