Performs tech planning, design, devel, integ, v&v for total syst life cycle. Analyses performed at all levels of syst product incl. concept, design, fabrication, test, instl, operation, maintenance & disposal, incorp design methods & stds for Cyber Security, SW & HW infrastructure. Designs, devels, docs, tests & debugs SW that contains logical & math solutions to business/mission problems/questions in computer language. Ensures the logical & syst conversion of customer/product reqs into total syst solutions that ack tech, sched, cost constraints & align to SW & HW deployment pipelines & factories. Performs func & timeline analysis, detail trade & reqs allocation & interface defs studies to translate customer reqs into HW & SW feature defs & acceptance criteria. Applies stds, processes, procedures & tools throughout the devel life cycle. Applies HW & SW knowledge, cyber security stds in business/mission apps, & feedback from users to develop SW. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles doc of program devel & analyzes syst capabilities to resolve program problems, output/input data acq, programming tech & controls. Ensures SW stds are met. Validates incorp of features & use cases into implemented designs.

The ISA UAS division of Lockheed Martin Skunk Works is seeking talented DevSecOps Engineers with a Software Engineering background to join our team and continue our 80-year legacy of pioneering advanced aircraft.
 
As a DevSecOps Engineer supporting the Advanced Development Programs (ADP) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Functional Domain, you will implement DevSecOps practices supporting mission-critical systems.
 
This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact through creativity, collaboration, and innovative thinking in the Skunk Works environment.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and improve DevSecOps capabilities supporting secure, reliable software delivery for mission-critical systems.
  • Collaborate across software, systems, infrastructure, hardware, and security teams to integrate solutions into complex program environments.
  • Help lead troubleshooting and continuous improvement while taking ownership of complex issues and supporting other engineers.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to solve problems, improve processes, and deliver scalable solutions that support current and future programs.
 
Travel up to 10% may be required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on DevOps
  • Experience building, maintaining, and automating CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Linux-based development environments
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages

Desired Skills

  • Experience in non-traditional DevOps environments, such as lab systems, embedded systems, or hardware-integrated platforms
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible or similar tools
  • Experience with package management tools like Conan for multi-platform software projects
  • Basic proficiency with monitoring and observability tools, such as Grafana, to improve visibility and reliability
  • Experience with Agile software development tools and practices, including Git, JIRA, Confluence, and CI/CD platforms
  • Understanding of build systems and compilers such as CMake, Make, and Gradle and their role in automated software delivery
  • Experience with software and system integration, testing, and validation practices
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, systems, infrastructure, and security engineering
  • Current Security+ certification or willingness to obtain
  • Active Secret security clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $98100.00 - $182100.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
