Standard Job Description

The RMS Training Lead is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs that support RMS supply‑chain requirements and enterprise‑wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Development: Partner with global supply chain subject matter experts to create e‑learning modules, instructor‑led decks, job aids, standard operating procedures, and simulations; conduct curriculum gap analyses and maintain a version‑controlled master repository.
  • Curriculum Management & Deployment: Plan rollouts (timeline, audience, format), coordinate logistics (venues, virtual classrooms, learner management system LMS) enrollment), track attendance/completion, and produce post‑training reports.
  • Facilitation & Instruction: Deliver in‑person or virtual instructor‑led sessions; provide on‑the‑job coaching, Q&A, and train‑the‑trainer workshops.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Align training with HR competency frameworks, manage budget with Finance and leadership, secure leadership sponsorship, and support cross‑functional initiatives (e.g., STRIVE, Centralization).
  • Continuous Improvement: Measure effectiveness using metrics (Kirkpatrick, competency assessments, KPI impact) and recommend enhancements, including LMS upgrades and emerging technologies.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure training meets ISO 9001, ITAR/EAR, FAR/DFARS, and maintain audit‑ready records.

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing training projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and leadership. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses training project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, leaders, and clients.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Education & Experience – Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, Education, or a related field and at least 5 years of experience designing and delivering training programs for supply‑chain, aerospace & defense, or government operations.
  2. SME Collaboration & Content Creation – Proven ability to work closely with subject‑matter experts to translate technical knowledge into e‑learning modules, instructor‑led decks, job aids, and SOPs; experience with instructional‑design tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, LMS authoring).
  3. Facilitation & Adult‑Learning Skills – Demonstrated success delivering instructor‑led training (in‑person and virtual), conducting “train‑the‑trainer” sessions, and providing on‑the‑job coaching for complex, safety‑critical processes.
  4. Stakeholder Management & Budget Oversight – Strong communication and partnership skills to align training with competency frameworks, secure leadership sponsorship, and manage training budgets and external vendor contracts.
  5. Compliance & Documentation – Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards (FAR/DFARS) and experience maintaining audit‑ready training records and version‑controlled curricula.

Desired Skills

  • Advanced instructional‑design certifications (e.g., CPTD, ATD, or Certified Instructional Designer)
  • Experience with immersive learning technologies such as AR/VR or simulation‑based training platforms
  • Proficiency in data‑analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau) for measuring training effectiveness and ROI
  • Knowledge of supply‑chain management systems (e.g., SAP, P2P, S4Hana, etc) to integrate training with operational workflows
  • Strong project‑management background (PMP or similar) for managing multi‑phase curriculum rollouts
  • Ability to develop multilingual or culturally adapted training assets for a global workforce
  • Familiarity with continuous‑improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) to embed best‑practice training processes.

Pay Information

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role. 

  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $161300.00 - $299500.00 
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $145100.00 - $269500.00 
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $129000.00 - $239600.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $116100.00 - $215700.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Lufkin, TX; etc.

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
