Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma and a basic understanding of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) principles.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to communicate technical project details clearly, including interpretation of engineering documentation, fabrication methods, and cost/schedule planning.
  • Experience with interpretation of Electrical/Mechanical schematic, blueprint, and/or engineering drawings.
  • Experience with stripping, crimping, splicing, soldering, and/or terminating electrical/electronic wiring.

Standard Job Description

Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance.

Desired Skills

  • Ability to engage, communicate, and interact with engineers, leadership/management, and program customers, especially through the presentation of ideas and negotiation of priorities.
  • Logical and analytical thinking skills with the ability to visualize and discuss optimal fabrication approach to build or modify mechanical/electronic/electromechanical assemblies.
  • Experience fabricating avionics electrical cable harnesses, chassis, assemblies, and/or system equipment racks in a quality controlled environment, with knowledge of relevant standards.
  • Experience generating, modifying, and providing feedback for engineering drawings with a focus on design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.

Full-Time Salary Range: $50300.00 - $93300.00
