Standard Job Description
You will be the Circuit Card Design Engineer for the Hardware Engineering team at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC). Our team designs, develops and fields precision engagement aerospace and defense systems, delivering high reliability circuit card assemblies (CCAs) that power missiles, sensors and other mission critical subsystems.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Circuit Design Engineer you will ensure technical excellence across your assigned tasks, drive those tasks to successful completion, and keep stakeholders fully informed of progress and issues. You’ll work closely with production, program, and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, on‑schedule hardware. Your responsibilities will include:
- Capture and refine ROIC system requirements and translate them into detailed block‑level specifications.
- Create and verify analog, mixed‑signal and digital circuit blocks (CMOS pixels, ADCs, bias generators, digital controllers, memory, PLLs, high‑speed transceivers).
- Perform circuit simulation, timing analysis and layout of individual blocks and of the top‑level ROIC floorplan.
- Run laboratory tests, debug silicon and iterate designs to meet performance, power and radiation‑hardness targets.
- Generate technical documentation, test reports and design‑review decks; deliver clear presentations to cross‑functional teams and customers.
- Coordinate device‑library and process‑selection activities with CMOS foundries, managing mask‑set deliveries and process‑characterization data.
- Support overall IR‑sensor system integration by working closely with optics, mechanical, firmware and test groups.
- Mentor junior designers, promote best‑practice design flows and encourage a culture of creativity and inclusion.
- Participate in risk, schedule and earned‑value tracking for ROIC projects and report status to senior leadership.
