Job Description
You will be the Senior Research Scientist and Process Integration Engineer for the Detector Research and Development team. Our team is responsible for leading design, growth, fabrication, and testing of next‑generation infrared photo‑detectors grown by molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) and/or metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD).
What You Will Be Doing
As the Senior Research Scientist, you will be responsible for leading process integration and scientific investigations that drive infrared detector innovation.Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Process Integration of InAsSb, GaAs, and GaSb semiconductor wafers
- Development of etch and deposition process modules.
- Planning, coordination, and combination of process modules, including creation of work instructions, process travelers, and understanding of SPC (statistical process control).
- Hands-on support of semiconductor wafer and die processing in a high-mix, automated semiconductor cleanroom.
- Design multi‑layer semiconductor devices using band‑gap engineering principles.
- Analyze, report, and present device performance against current and future product goals.

Develops theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and meaningful pattern for the benefit of project advancement and emerging technologies. May participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3+ years of professional experience; or 2+ years of professional experience with a related Masters degree; or 0 years of experience required with a related PhD.
Proven ability to plan and present technical information clearly to key stakeholders.
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex engineering problems.

Desired Skills
- Proficiency in band gap and semiconductor device engineering.
- Background in semiconductor defects and interface research, as well as process integration.
- Experience in semiconductor wafer and die processing.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience programming with Matlab, JMP, Python, SQL, etc.
- Persistence in problem solving.
- Proficiency in sorting out the most impactful issues to focus on.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00
