We are looking for a Sr Staff Systems Integration & Test Engineer to join our team in Santa Barbara, CA.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Senior Infrared Sensor Test Engineer/Integrated Product Team (IPT) Test Engineering Lead, you will provide technical leadership for the development, integration, qualification, and production readiness of advanced infrared sensor systems. You will lead test engineering activities across the program lifecycle, from requirements definition and test planning through test readiness, execution, data analysis, and final product acceptance.
You will serve as a technical authority and primary test engineering representative to program leadership, customers, and cross-functional engineering organizations. You will lead and provide technical oversight to a team of test engineers while independently solving complex technical problems and developing innovative test solutions for advanced infrared sensor systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Serve as the IPT Test Engineering Lead, providing technical leadership and overall ownership of test engineering activities across the program lifecycle.
- Lead the development of comprehensive test strategies, test plans, procedures, schedules, and requirements for complex infrared sensor hardware and systems.
- Plan and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and other technical reviews, ensuring hardware, software, facilities, instrumentation, procedures, personnel, and data systems are ready to support testing.
- Lead test execution and technical decision-making for functional, performance, environmental, characterization, qualification, and production testing.
- Provide technical oversight and direction to a team of approximately 10 test engineers, establishing priorities, resolving technical issues, and ensuring execution against program objectives.
- Work under broad, consultative direction to independently identify technical challenges, establish approaches, and determine courses of action necessary to achieve program objectives.
- Develop and implement innovative test methodologies, architectures, instrumentation, automation, and data-analysis techniques to solve unusually complex technical problems.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10 years or more of professional experience; or 8 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree; or 6 years of professional experience with a related PhD
- Demonstrated experience leading test engineering activities for complex hardware or sensor systems.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing test strategies, test plans, Test Readiness Reviews, and complex test campaigns.
- Experience providing technical leadership and oversight of engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex technical problems and develop innovative engineering solutions.
- Experience presenting technical information and recommendations to program leadership and customers.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering organizations including systems, hardware, software, manufacturing, and quality.
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation, automated test systems, data acquisition, and technical data analysis.
* Must be a US Citizen as this position will require a Secret Clearance.
Desired Skills
• Experience operating and testing any variety of photo-detector/sensor (Infrared, Visible, UV, X-Ray, Gamma Ray, LIDAR)
• Technical Mentorship Experience
• Project Management experience (project planning), team leadership, or working with budgetary estimates
• Electronic troubleshooting of digital and analog electronics.
• Firmware, Embedded Software, FPGA Experience
**Active DoD Security Clearance.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
