Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is one of four Lockheed Martin business areas. We are growing rapidly and seeking to hire a Systems Integration & Test Engineer for our Grand Prairie, TX site.
The Sr Design Verification & Qualification Test Engineer will plan, coordinate, and execute design verification testing (DVT) and qualification testing for RF sensor hardware and subsystems. Working under general direction, the engineer will independently develop test plans and procedures, conduct laboratory testing, analyze results, and prepare reports that demonstrate performance against requirements. This role applies comprehensive test engineering knowledge to complex RF, environmental, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) test issues and collaborates with design and systems engineers to resolve discrepancies.
Core Responsibilities
• Translate allocated requirements into verification methods, test objectives, test configurations, and measurable acceptance criteria.
• Develop and maintain DVT and qualification test plans, detailed procedures, and requirements-to-test traceability for assigned hardware and subsystems.
• Coordinate laboratory equipment, test articles, instrumentation, fixtures, and facility readiness for RF performance, environmental, and EMI testing.
• Execute and troubleshoot RF laboratory tests, document as-run configurations, and ensure measurements are valid and repeatable.
• Plan and support environmental testing using applicable MIL-STD-810 methods and EMI testing against program-specified standards.
• Analyze test data, assess compliance with acceptance criteria, and investigate anomalies with RF, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams.
• Prepare test reports, document discrepancies and limitations, and recommend corrective actions and appropriate retest activities.
• Coordinate assigned test activities and dependencies with laboratory personnel and external test facilities; communicate status, risks, and readiness at technical reviews.
• Maintain configuration-controlled test records and improve procedures, data analysis, and test automation to increase efficiency and repeatability.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 3+ years of related experience in hardware test engineering, design verification, qualification testing, or RF laboratory testing.
• Hands-on RF test experience using laboratory instrumentation such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, or network analyzers.
• Experience developing test plans and procedures, executing tests, analyzing data, and preparing technical reports.
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-810 environmental testing and EMI/EMC test standards and practices.
• Ability to independently complete complex test assignments under general direction and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
• Interim security clearance is needed to start, therefore you must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills
• Experience with RF sensor hardware development and qualification, including troubleshooting across hardware, software, and test interfaces.
• Experience applying program-selected MIL-STD-461 requirements and coordinating EMI/EMC testing with specialized facilities.
• Experience with vibration, shock, thermal, or other environmental test activities and evaluation of pre- and post-test RF performance.
• Experience using MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools for instrument control, data reduction, and automated reporting.
• Familiarity with measurement uncertainty, instrument calibration, test readiness reviews, and configuration management.
