You will be the Sr Quality Engineer for the PrSM Program Quality Engineering Team. Our team isresponsible for leading Transition to Production efforts for the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) production, driving continuous improvement initiatives, root cause and corrective actions, andensuring aerospace quality standards across Lockheed Martin sites and suppliers.

 

What You Will Be Doing

As the Quality Engineer Sr you will be responsible for overseeing quality processes, coordinatingcross‑functional teams, and supporting hybrid on‑site/remote operations. Your responsibilities willinclude, but are not limited to:

  • Participate & Lead Affordability/Efficiency projects
  • Lead in quality initiatives within an Integrated Product Team (IPT)
  • Leading investigations to resolve transition to production issues.
  • Develop and implement inspection plans at LM sites and Suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP,and other aerospace standards.
  • Support travel to production sites and/or Supplier as needed.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting for quality metrics.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. 

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in quality engineering, aerospace, or defense manufacturing and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related STEM field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated expertise with Quality Management Systems (AS9100, ISO 9001) including creation of inspection plans, execution of First‑Article Inspections to AS9102, and management of special‑process compliance
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and performing mechanical/electrical inspections; able to identify supplier quality deficiencies and drive corrective‑action implementation
  • Physical capability to work in a manufacturing environment, including prolonged standing and use of required Personal Protective Equipment (protective footwear, eye/hearing protection, etc.)

Desired Skills

  • Experience with MFC Apriso and other P2P business systems 
  • Proven ability to lead source inspections, special‑process surveys, purchase‑order reviews, and supplier surveillance activities
  • Demonstrated leadership and customer‑relationship management in cross‑functional team settings
  • Knowledge of tooling processes (casting, additive manufacturing) and structured/blue‑light inspection techniques
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher
  • GD&T training or certification 
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
