Standard Job Description
Develops, coordinates and conducts technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (doe) constructs. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Analyzes preliminary plans and develops reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing, and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data.
What you Will Be Doing
As the Reliability Engineer Sr you will be responsible for development and delivery of the Reliability & Maintainability analyses & products for your assigned program(s), including design & development of maintenance concepts and design for Reliability and Maintainability influence within the IAMD Strategic Initiatives Line of Business.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Development/definition of maintenance concepts, which may include maintenance task analysis, and maintainability demonstrations
• Development and delivery of traditional RAM-T engineering products, i.e RBD/MBD, FMEA/FMECA, FRACAS, MTTR, etc.
• Development of Reliability and Maintainability Predictions and Analyses iaw MIL-HDBK-217
• Driving and influencing program requirements and specifications related to Reliability, Testability and Maintainability discipline areas
• Driving and influencing proposals related to Reliability, Testability and Maintainability discipline areas
• Reviews engineering specifications and drawings during development phase and proposes design refinements to improve key Sustainment metrics
• Presenting status briefings and technical updates to Lockheed Martin leadership and customer counterparts.
• Managing talent: staffing, coaching, performance reviews, training plans, time card approvals, and regular employee check ins
• Experience working proposal activities and manpower planning
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (studies in engineering or engineering/technology preferred)
• Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
• Strong technical background and previous professional technical experience
• Proficient in accomplishment of development/definition of maintenance concepts for systems
• Experience with analyzing engineering design of products (including specifications for maintenance requirements) using knowledge of maintainability engineering and related technologies.
• Familiarity with Reliability, Maintainability, Testability, and Human Factors Engineering concepts and considerations
• Ability to travel to support Flight Tests, System Demonstrations and program reviews
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build effective working relationships.
• Candidate should be an analytical thinker with demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovations.
• Experience collaborating with and working in conjunction with other functions and engineering groups to achieve desirable results
• Ability to communicate, effectively interface and influence multiple levels of executives and a broad range of internal and external customers
• Demonstration of full spectrum leadership qualities
Desired Skills
• Knowledgeable of military handbooks/guidelines, specifically MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-HDBK-470A, MIL-HDBK-472
• Proficient use of Model Based Systems Engineering tools (Cameo)
• Experience generating/influencing initial maintainability and reliability requirements, program plans & analyses
• Experience generating/influencing Reliability Growth Models, requirements, program plans & analyses
• Background and previous technical experience with Statistics and Statistical Modeling
• Ability to utilize best practices of design and test that will assist in improving Built-In-Test (BIT) capabilities.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance
• Experience with missile systems and/or sensor systems
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
