Enjoy a rewarding career with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) delivering the F-35 program in a very active and high operational tempo Site Manager position for the German Air Force (GAF) at Büchel AB. Our team is responsible for delvering all F-35 contractor support operations on-site. This position will be the primary customer liaison to GAF leadership.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Act as single-point of contact to oversee all F-35 contractor support operations at Büchel AB
  • Report to AFS Field Ops Regional Manager, maintaining close coordination in management of Performance Based Logistics requirements
  • Have overall responsibility for on-site contractor technical services: Autonomic Logistics Information System, a/c maintenance, field support engineers, training system support, support equipment, support for local Maintenance/Upgrade/Overhaul (MUO) activities & spares warehouse liaison services
  • Communicate site priorities & needs to F-35 Lightning Support Center and key management personnel to resolve critical maintenance & supply issues
  • Manage project/support resources in compliance with cost goals & operating budgets, maintaining sustained growth of technical & professional competence of on-site team
  • Ensure responsive support to concerns of customer leadership. Coordinate/support industry visits & deployed Contractor Field Teams (CFTs) to site
  • Execute management tasks that include: oversight of all on-site contractor activities; planning & scheduling of on-site teamwork assignments (including potential contractor deployment packages); enforcement of safety/physical security procedures & directives; management of labor charges & administrative documentation
  • Ensure personnel compliance with program, company, customer & government agency policies/procedures; coordinate staffing & training requirements
  • Be willing to travel and work any shift & weekends. Must be a US citizen & qualify for an interim Secret security clearance prior to hire-date. Must possess a valid US passport
  • Position is located in remote area where nearest private, international schools are ~75–90 minutes drive (each way) from site. Candidates with school age children should carefully consider site's remoteness & potential schooling options before applying

Basic Qualifications

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

 

  • At least 10 years of aircraft maintenance, operations or supply professional experience
  • Demonstrated strong team & strategic leadership skills. Demonstrated strong verbal & written skills, as well as ability to lead clear communications techniques
  • Demonstrated experience to coach teams, resulting in overall team growth & performance improvements
  • Demonstrated experience managing aircraft, product & systems engineering support
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of aircraft operations in & around aviation environments

Desired Skills

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college in related discipline.
  • Experience working and interacting with senior management within unit, operations and maintenance communities. - Knowledge of F-35 pilot and maintainer systems & processes, and/or logistics support.
  • Candidate should possess a broad military aircraft support background and advanced interpersonal communication skills to be effective in a high tempo operational environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supporting entities (e.g., Pratt & Whitney and local base authorities).
  • Experience in Foreign Military Sales (FMS) fighter maintenance, training and/or operations support desirable.
  • Prior military or civilian equivalent operational maintenance & logistics experience desirable -- specifically organizational and intermediate maintenance experience.
  • Should be considered an expert authority in maintenance, operations and support disciplines.
  • Interim Contractor Support (ICS) experience to include retrofit management desirable.
  • Familiarity with the F-35 logistics, autonomic logistics information system (ALIS), technical publications approach and supportable low observable (SLO) support concept desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in the German language is desired.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
