Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Material Review (MRB) Engineer located onsite at Edwards AFB, California covering F-35 Flight Test and depot level support for modification repairs. The candidate must possess a unique set of skills combining strong engineering credentials with a solid understanding of depot practices and procedures. Primary duties of this assignment include anomaly investigation, technical solution development, preparation and release of dispositions for discrepancies on aircraft high performance airframe parts, electrical installations, fuel and hydrualic systems, and LO finishes in support of F-35 Flight Test mission objectives. Position requires a broad knowledge of aircraft maintenance and test support with the flexibility to work off hours and weekends.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Coordinate across a large number of functional areas, including Stress/Service Life, Quality Assurance, Structures and Systems Design groups, Safety, Materials and Processes for resolution of aircraft non-conformances.
- Work closely with aircraft maintenance team, interface daily with flight test engineering support staff, support process improvements, incorporate best practices into daily operations, and coordinate lessons learned and corrective action.
The position is for first shift supporting the F-35 Flight Test. Candidate will be required to support MRB team staffing/shop support coverage for occasional off shift and weekends. Business travel may be required on an occasional basis.
Candidate will be required to participate in an extended period of training including in Palmdale, CA as well as a potential rotation to Fort Worth, TX. Applicant selected will be required to obtain Material Review certification.
This role requires hands-on involvement in evaluating non-conformances on aircraft and components, which may include climbing, working in confined spaces, working under low surfaces and handling parts in a fast-paced production/depot environment.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering field.
- Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Unigraphics, or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.
- Experience providing engineering support for aircraft production, modification, or sustainment.
Desired Skills
- Experience with CATIA V5 and Team Center
- Experience with metallic and composite design and/or analysis
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Prior experience/role with MR Engineering signature authority
- Strong internal and external customer focus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
