Performs a variety of secretarial and administrative duties for assigned supervisor/manager or senior staff member. Performs normal office functions such as setting up and maintaining alphabetical, numerical and/or subject files; interviewing callers and making proper referrals; arranging meetings and conferences; and receiving, referring, or answering mail. May take and transcribe dictation; uses personal computers and standard desktop software to compose reports, correspondence, and memorandums; reviews drafts and finished documents for appropriate grammatical usage; answers questions relating to office operations and established policies and procedures. May provide guidance and direction, as needed, to lower-level secretaries and other clerical employees.

We're seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant III to join our Space Operations and Analytics (SOA) Programs team in Herndon, VA. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact by providing top-notch administrative support to our leaders and teams.

Your day will be filled with a variety of exciting tasks, including:

• Managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and arranging travel arrangements to ensure seamless operations
• Serving as the face of our team, greeting visitors, and connecting them with the right people
• Coordinating events, meetings, and celebrations that bring our team together and foster a sense of community
• Utilizing your technical skills to create spreadsheets, presentation charts, and correspondence using the full Microsoft Office Suite
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, tracking requirements, and generating status reports to inform our decision-making 

We're looking for a candidate who is a master multi-tasker, able to prioritize effectively and adapt to changing circumstances with ease. You should be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Basic Qualifications

  • Experience communicating in all mediums (phone, email, text, etc.) with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and customers
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), 
  • Internet research skills
  • Experience coordinating complex travel arrangements and reconciling expense reports
  • Project management skills and project coordination experience sufficient to work independently and execute projects with minimal supervision
  • Must be a United States citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI w/ poly clearance

Desired Skills

  • Active Top Secret/SCI w/ poly security clearance
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an administrative assistant
  • Work experience with Lockheed Martin
  • Degree from an accredited college
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Self-Motivated and willing to help
  • Ability to work with wide range of diverse military and civilian customers
  • Ability to learn new systems
  • Project management skills and project coordination experience sufficient to work independently and execute projects with minimal supervision
  • Must be a United States citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI w/ poly clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $56600.00 - $105000.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
