Performs one or more multiple financial activities within various finance job functions (FP&A, Overhead, Program Finance, Accounting, Controller, etc.). Will include some or all of the responsibilities as defined. Performs financial analysis, establishes performance management budgeting, and forecasting activities to include variance analysis, trend identification, workforce planning drivers, risk and opportunities assessment and development of mitigation plans. Integrates information from multiple financial systems, processes and functions in order to consolidate the data forensics into actionable business solution recommendations. Timely and accurately consolidates financial results (Orders, Sales, EBIT, Cash, ROIC, Overhead, Discretionary Funding) and monthly, quarterly and year end reporting to internal and external customers to include government contractual cost and schedule earned value management reporting. Develops and utilizes forward-looking data analytics, visualization and trend analysis to inform financial strategy and decision making. Develops and provides actionable recommendations to key stakeholders to make sound financial and operating decisions. Maintains applicable internal and external (FAR, CAS, SEC, US GAAP) policy, procedure, and controls for compliance to support internal process and external regulatory requirements. Provides subject matter expertise support to proposal development, basis of estimate and negotiations, as required.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax and Accounting Associate with relevant experience to join our finance team. The associate will support tax, month end close, and general accounting activities while ensuring adherence to company policies, applicable laws, and regulatory standards. This role provides exposure to both tax and accounting functions and offers opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare long range plan, quarterly and annual tax schedules in support of federal, state and tax credits (R&D).
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal control policies; document controls and assist with internal audits.
• Coordinate with external auditors, HR, and other internal stakeholders to provide required documentation.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy of workflows.
• Assist with month end and quarter end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and accruals
• Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, etc.) and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
• Prepare and analyze management reports (e.g., profit and loss summaries, budget vs. actual) and provide insights to finance leadership.

• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

 

***Reports in office once per week in Highlands Ranch, CO***

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in accounting or tax or anything else.

• 1+ years of experience in general accounting.

• Ability to work with Microsoft Office

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.

• High level of accuracy, attention to details and ability to work with a team

• Effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with peers, customers, and managers.

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with Lockheed Martin policies and procedures (or willingness to learn quickly).

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas).

• Prior experience with SAP (or other ERP systems)

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative skills; high attention to detail.

• Demonstrated teamwork and the ability to take direction while also working independently.

• Knowledge of internal controls, risk management practices, and basic SOX compliance.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.

• 2+ years of related experiences

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $67400.00 - $125200.00
