Position/Price-to-Win Senior Staff
1. Role Summary
You will be lead Competitive Intelligence & PTW Analyst on high-priority Space capture teams.
Your analysis shapes the win strategy. Leveraging deep market knowledge, AI‑augmented research, and structured analytic techniques, you will provide high‑impact, decision‑ready intelligence by translating fragmented intelligence into decisive inputs for Capture Managers, Proposal Managers, and Business Development leaders.
This is not a report-writing role. It is a decision-consultation role where your work directly influences solution design, price/non-price positioning, and discriminator development for programs that define the next generation of space superiority.
You will operate at the intersection of strategic intelligence, capture execution, and technical discriminator development — using modern tools (AI-assisted research, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) tradecraft, data visualization) to accelerate the intelligence cycle and outpace competitor insight loops.
This role is a feeder for LM Space’s Capture Excellence Leadership Pipeline. High performers transition to Capture Management, Program Management, and Business Development tracks.
2. What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)
- Competitive Intelligence & Adversary Analysis
- Build and maintain living competitor profiles for 3–5 active pursuits (pricing tendencies, solution architectures, teaming patterns, past performance themes)
- Monitor OSINT & classified sources for competitor investment signals, workforce shifts, facility expansions, partnership announcements
- Apply structured analytic techniques (ACH, Key Assumptions Check, Black Hats) to stress-test competitor courses of action
- Customer Intelligence & Evaluation Mapping
- Deconstruct RFI/RFP evaluation criteria into weighted decision frameworks
- Map customer budget phasing, acquisition strategy shifts, and technical risk tolerances
- Track program office leadership changes, requirement evolution, and source selection precedents
- PTW Input Development
- Deliver rapid, iterative PTW data packages: competitor price/position-to-win ranges, solution credibility assessments, schedule risk flags
- Support cost/price modeling teams with competitor cost structure benchmarks (labor rates, fee profiles, material approaches)
- Translate technical discriminators into priced value propositions
- Capture Team Integration
- Embed with 1–2 capture teams per cycle; attend stand-ups, color reviews, strategy sessions
- Prepare and facilitate Black Hat competitor reviews for capture teams
- Present PTW finding to leadership at Decision Gate meetings
- Provide pre-color review competitive snapshots (24–48 hr turnaround)
- Tooling & Tradecraft Modernization
- Pilot AI/LLM workflows for document synthesis, earnings call analysis, foreign disclosure monitoring
- Maintain team knowledge base in Confluence/GovWin; automate recurring alerts
- Contribute to PTW Community of Practice: share templates, methods, lessons learned
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in competitive intelligence, capture/proposal support, business analysis, defense industry research, or intelligence analysis (military/IC/contractor)
- Demonstrated structured analysis & briefing skills — can show a sanitized work product (competitor profile, assessment memo, briefing deck)
- Active Top Secret clearance OR ability to obtain Top Secret (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Experience working in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment — capture teams, proposal centers, or operational intelligence cells
Desired Skills
- Space domain familiarity — National Security Space, NASA, commercial satellite markets, ground/space/launch segments
- AI/LLM-assisted research workflows — prompt engineering for intelligence synthesis, automated monitoring pipelines, RAG-based knowledge retrieval
- Proficiency with at least one major CI platform (GovWin IQ, Bloomberg Government, AlphaSense, Capability Guide, Jane’s) AND data visualization tool (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent)
- OSINT tradecraft training (e.g., Mercyhurst, NPS, Janes, or military 35F/1N0/14N equivalents)
- Capture lifecycle exposure — RFP shred, Pink/Red/Gold team support, color review participation
