In this role, you will work on Printed Circuit Board designs ranging from two layer quick turn boards to space-qualified high layer count rigid/flex backplanes with blind/buried/micro vias. Design will range from simple prototype designs to high-speed, high power or RF designs across a wide variety of Space applications. You will be responsible for reviewing the inputs provided prior to hand-off, as well as facilitating and scheduling reviews during the design process all the way to formal engineering release.

Our team uses a variety of commercial and custom tools. We intend on extending the capabilities of these tools so comfort with learning and writing code is a plus.

The primary PCB development tool you will use is Siemens Xpedition and Zuken CR8000. Other tool usage for signal integrity, documentation control and inspection, and regular MS Office tools will be necessary as well.

Location: The selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Sunnyvale, CA; King of Prussia, PA; and Highlands Ranch, CO, and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. This position does support teleworking if not located at the any of the primary sites that this role supports.

Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Demonstrated experience in PCB Design, Fabrication or Assembly for rigid and rigid-flex CCAs.
  • Familiar with Electronics design lifecycle
  • Design experience using any of the major EDA tools such as; Siemens, Cadence, Altium, or Zuken.
  • Ability to review PCB and Assembly Drawings complicate with Drafting Standards, Geometric Tolerancing, and change management release packages.
  • Proven understanding of electronics standards and processes.
  • Ability to communicate how and why a design meets specified requirements both in writing and verbally.
  • Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication.

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated experience working with external vendors as well as internal manufacturing.
  • Experience with flex, rigid flex, or RF PCB/CCAs
  • Knowledge of Design or Fabrication or Assembly specifications such as IPC 2221, 2222, 2223 or IPC 6012, 6013 or IPC 600.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving enterprise technical issues.
  • Experience using Siemens Xpedition and Siemens EDM
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (such as VBScript and Python) to perform software automation tasks
  • Ability to analyze existing ECAD PLM processes and identify opportunities for optimization
  •  Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00
