Introduction
We are looking for a motivated Electronics Engineer to join an exciting and dynamic team in designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting complex electrical flight hardware used on the Orion spacecraft to send astronauts to the Moon and beyond!
Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.
What does this role look like?
The Orion Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver the next spaceships to NASA! The Electronics Engineer 3 is an individual contributor on the Avionics team supporting the Orion program. You will design, integrate, and test flight hardware for Orion Avionics subsystem. Work is performed under the direction of senior engineers and is focused on delivering critical flight hardware on schedule. This role blends electrical‑hardware design, system integration, and test‑equipment development in a fast‑paced, mission‑oriented environment.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:
Example:
• Design/Capture electrical schematics and guide the board layouts.
• Perform electrical Worst Case Analysis and Electrical Parts Stress Analysis.
• Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world class avionics systems.
• Resolve test anomalies and troubleshooting, and generation, review and presentation of Product Certification, and also support system level testing.
To be effective in this role, you will need:

• Experience supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification.
• Experience in different phases of aerospace hardware development cycle.
• 3+ years professional experience.
Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Engineering or a related STEM discipline or experience in lieu of degree.
- Previous or current equivalent responsible product engineer or full lifecycle electronics engineering technical leadership experience.
Desired Skills
- Previous avionics hardware experience
- Box/Card Test equipment troubleshooting and scripting (python)
- Circuit troubleshooting/root cause analysis
- Previous or current technical leadership experience.
- Demonstrated leadership or willingness to lead.
- Knowledge of CCA test requirements and processes.
- Technical experience in full life cycle development of hardware including design, integration, and test.
- Demonstrated strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Should be able to demonstrate strong technical leadership abilities to support ATLO integration team
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
